Developmental Editing $0.015 per word

A developmental edit will focus on big-picture feedback on your manuscript's structure, pacing, characters, and themes. I will read through your story multiple times, getting an overall sense of the work, then note its strengths and its places that need attention. This is an excellent option if you can sense some holes or underdeveloped spots in your story but aren't quite sure what to do about them. I will comb through the text and note where your plot could use tightening, which characters need deeper development, and any places where the writing is unclear. All feedback is then compiled into a detailed editorial report. 

Line Editing $0.012 per word

Line editing entails refinement at the sentence level, with suggested edits and comments on word choice, sentence structure, rhythm and flow of paragraphs, as well as cohesion of sections and chapters. Edits will include typos, missing words, misspellings, punctuation errors, run-on sentences and fragments, inconsistencies, and unclear prose. I will fact-check where relevant and provide suggestions as needed. Suggested additional edits may include making cuts, rearranging the sequence of certain scenes, changes to word choice, and reworking instances of repetition or inconsistency. All edits are shared in-document, including one draft of your manuscript with tracked changes and another with all edits accepted. 

Copy Editing $0.010 per word

Copy Editing is the lowest level of editing. I will comb your manuscript for typos, formatting errors, misspellings, missing words, issues with punctuation and grammar, and perform light fact-checking, as needed. 

Combined Line and Copy Editing $0.14 per word
